Earth Day
Butterfly Class enjoyed celebrating Earth Day on 22nd April. They started the day off by sorting a bag of recyclable items into piles of paper, metal and plastic. They enjoyed a scavenger hunt in our playground looking for different things found in nature such as grass, dandelions and feathers. For their mark-making session they enjoyed dabbing dots to create the Earth. Some children enjoyed fishing rubbish out of the water to "save the fish", some enjoyed a cleaner painting sensory activity. and through the week they all contributed to a fish collage using recycled materials. The idea from Earth Day continued for the rest of the half term; with all their crafty artwork being made re-using recycled materials.
