Topic - Art

In our first art lesson of this topic, we used images from Meerkat Mail to do some observational drawings.  We had to think about the size and proportion of our drawings and looked at how we could use our pencil to shade in our drawings.

PE - Gymnastics

In our gymnastics lessons, we have been working on finding different ways to travel and linking travelling with balances.

Maths

The children have been working really hard in their maths lessons and have been using Base Ten to help them to compare numbers to 100.  As well as using Base Ten to compare numbers, they have started using Rekenreks to help them master their number skills.  The children are really enjoying using the Rekenreks.

Topic - Meerkat Mail

In Year 2 we read the book Meerkat Mail and have since been finding out about different habitats around the world and the animals that live in different habitats. We also looked at how food chains work.
