Year 3 Gallery

Art - Mayan Art

Well done to Year 3 classes who have shown tenacity in learning new skills in weaving and clay as part of their Mayan Art visual research. We have tried many materials and processes from scratch art through to printmaking and clay. We will develop our research into designing a fashion garment this coming term.

PE - Gymnastics

In year 3 we have been creating different balances and transferring these balances onto the equipment.  We have looked at balances of different levels as well as using a different number of points for our balances.

Partitioning
In year 3, we have been learning how to partition numbers up to 1000.  We worked in pairs to support each other and we think we've cracked it.  We can now partition any number up to 1000.
Science - Muscles
We learnt all about how our muscles work.  We found out that when we flex our arm by lifting it towards our shoulder then the biceps muscle contracts.  When the arm is lengthened, the opposite happens.  We had a go at making a model of an arm to show this working.

European Day of Languages

To celebrate European Day of Languages, we took part in an outdoor adventurous activity where we had to use a map of the school grounds to find the location of different posters which had information on to help us answer questions about each country.  We had lots of fun doing this.
