Year 5 Gallery

DT - Cooking

In Year 5, we developed our culinary skills by making our own flatbreads to accompany a freshly prepared, Greek-inspired salad. We practised and improved our knife skills, and learned how to use a grater and a peeler safely and confidently. Some of us even tried an olive for the very first time! It was a delicious and hands-on way to build our cooking knowledge and confidence in the kitchen.

.

Cinema and Bella Italia

The children had a great time at the cinema and then enjoyed a meal at Bella Italia.

.

Art - Ancient Greeks

The children have studied Ancient Greek vases and in particular those with pattern. They made visual research in sketchbooks and developed this into designs for vases . They developed their designs into clay and will extend this work to using digital media and storytelling.

.

PE - Gymnastics

In our indoor PE lessons, we have been practising our balance, jumps and travelling to improve our gymnastics skills!

.

European Day Of Languages

To celebrate International Day of Languages, we worked as a team with a map of school to find the answers to lots of different language questions! Take a look!

Christmas Production
After weeks of practice, learning our lines and songs, we finally took to the stage to perform our Christmas production, Primary School Christmas Musical, for our parents and loved ones. The children did themselves proud, delivering a wonderful performance filled with confidence, teamwork, and festive cheer

Christmas Dinner at Droylsden Academy

Despite the stormy weather on our walk to and from Droylsden Academy, we had a fantastic Christmas dinner! The tables were laid out festively, the tunes were playing, and the food was absolutely delicious. A huge thank-you to Droylsden Academy for their warm hospitality!

.

Fundraising - Christmas Cards

We have been designing our own Christmas cards that can help raise money for school!

.

Music - Keyboards

In their music lessons, the children have been learning the 12 Bar Blues on the keyboards! Their progress this half term has been amazing - there are definitely some future musicians in the year group!
