To celebrate World Maths Day, we measured how far we could jump from a standing start three times. We then found our individual average results and mean average of our class too. After that, we even plotted our results onto a line graph!

The Great Switch Off

To celebrate the Great Switch Off, we talked about the importance of saving energy and helping our environment. We switched off our electronics and took our maths lesson outside!

Today, we celebrated Safer Internet Day by joining a live lesson with the BBC. This year’s theme, “Too good to be True”, allowed us to investigate scams, phishing and password protection for our devices.

In Year 5 recently, we have been looking at how and why computers and the Mars Rover use binary code. We have been learning to create decimal numbers using binary. Take a look!

The Big Garden Clean Up

To celebrate the Big Garden Clean Up, we spoke about the importance of keeping our environment safe from litter, before heading outside to clean up our local school environment!

Lunar New Year

To celebrate Lunar New Year, we discussed how people all around the world might be celebrating the Year of the Snake! After our discussion, we made coiled snakes of our own!

To celebrate the RSPB’s Bird Watch, we went outside to investigate what birds we could see in our school environment. We saw lots of different species that included magpies, pigeons and even a robin!

In Year 5 this term, we have been learning all about Ancient Greece and the food they eat. We created our very own Greek salad and got to try different foods!
